Knowledge Bennett's Manifestation Of The Mind series is a collection of ten canvas paintings created in 2021. The paintings feature a hard edge minimalist style with a repeating asymmetrical design that progressively increases in height from one foot to ten feet. This unique progression visually and metaphorically represents Ralph Emerson's belief that once the mind is expanded by a new idea, it can never go back to its original dimensions.
The series debuted at KEAN UNIVERSITY during Bennett's one-year artist residency. He incorporates his signature black on black aesthetic by using black Diamond dust as the primary material. This is layered over matte black acrylic paint, resulting in a captivating image that engages viewers as they explore each canvas, creating a dynamic visual effect.
Bennett's Manifestation Of The Mind series draws inspiration from two different art movements: Hard Edge painting, and the Light and Space movement.
